Office of Township Leasing
The Office of Township Leasing works to assist the Executive Director in managing Township Leases. For both the Executive Director and the Office of Township Leasing, our role is to listen to the ambitions of Traditional Owners and help them realise their vision. We share knowledge, engage meaningfully and always work with cultural integrity.

The Office of Township Leasing

The Office of Township Leasing (OTL) assists the Executive Director with the administration and coordination of Township Leases.  

Our staff work closely with Consultative Forum members and regularly visit communities to discuss land use issues and proposed developments in Townships. 

We have a number of responsibilities including: 

  • Setting up meetings of the Executive Director and Consultative Forum
  • Negotiating subleases with business, government and community organisations
  • Collecting the rent from the subleases on behalf of the Traditional Owners
  • Working with stakeholders including Land Councils and Government to promote economic development
  • Promoting home ownership for interested people 

Our Office works with Aboriginal communities to create an open dialogue about Township Leasing; what it is, what it means and how it works. 

Our work is transparent and respectful, holding the highest regard for Aboriginal history, cultural practices, language and knowledge. 

We work with Traditional Owners to help them realise their vision for their land and community — and we walk alongside them.
