OTL supports Traditional Owners by sharing info, hosting meetings, and helping manage Township Leases as trusted, long-term partners.
The Township Leasing Model is only one of a number of land tenure options available to Traditional Owners. The role of the Executive Director and the OTL is to support Traditional Owners to understand what options are available to them under a Township Lease, how this is different from other land tenure arrangements and what impact that may have on their community.
Township Leases offer long-term Subleases that give people and businesses secure rights to use land. This helps attract investment, supports home ownership, and encourages local businesses. People with Subleases can use, develop, or sell the land, as long as they follow the rules in the agreement.
