Wadeye Sets Their Sights for the Future

In 2021, our Office received a request from the Kardu Diminin Corporation (KDC) seeking information on Township Leasing.  Since then, our Office has been working in partnership with the Wadeye Traditional Owners to support them to understand their land tenure choices.

The 2021–22 period marked a welcome return to community‑based Consultative Forum Meetings after 18 months of COVID‑19 restrictions that prevented travel and large gatherings, during which the Office adapted by holding smaller, socially distanced meetings in Darwin or speaking with members individually. Once restrictions eased, CFMs resumed in community, beginning with Mutitjulu in October 2021
